From Our Family and Music Minister | Do you ever have those memories that you wish you could forget? One I wish I could forget was an altercation with a new student at my high school. He was expelled from his previous school for fighting and had only been at Tiftarea for a few weeks. So I can say I didnā€™t start it, but I also let him get to me. As a result, I broke the Gym door, and he and I went to the principal. But fortunately, I was usually well behaved, so the principal told me to watch my temper and sent me on my way.

From our Family and Music Minister | Over the years, I have written many times about the adventures my Mother would get me into; however, she usually had admirable intentions. A lady that my Mother knew from Cordele had stopped by her store to shop and, more importantly, sit and talk for a few hours. In the conversation, the lady complained, as most mothers do at some point, that her children would not help her do anything around her apartment. Since this lady was up in age, my Mom asked her what she needed help doing. She needed her freezer defrosted and cleaned out. My Mother told her to go home and unplug it before she went to bed, and we would be there the next day to help her.

From Our Pastor | How frightening and unsettling are these times!Ā  Everywhere we look we see uncertainty and unrest.Ā  We are constantly bombarded with propaganda to heighten wise concern to terror and panic.Ā  Realizing there is such an agenda gives even more reason for alarm.Ā  These truly are disturbing days.

From our Family and Music Minister | We have all heard the saying, ā€œWhich came first, the chicken or the egg?ā€Ā  There cannot be chickens without eggs. But there cannot be eggs without chickens. They are pretty much a package deal. Arenā€™t we glad God took care of creating the egg and the chicken, so we didnā€™t have to worry about it? Faith and works go together like the chicken and the egg. One leads to the other, and the other leads to the one. Good works show true faith, and good works build a growing faith in true believers.

From our Family and Music Minister | Have you ever been cooking a meal or trying a new recipe, and you add an ingredient that just completely ruins your food?Ā  This has happened to me multiple times, especially when I started cooking more frequently in college. I had some friends come up to see us for the weekend, so I decided to precook several dishes for meals, including a big pot of spaghetti. I had a cookbook that I used with great success, so I saw no reason not to trust it completely. As we sat down to eat and I took a bite of the spaghetti, it was without a doubt the worst spaghetti I had ever eaten. I didnā€™t learn how to make spaghetti that day, but I knew what one ingredient NOT to put in spaghetti again.
