FROM OUR PASTOR | Do you ever feel overwhelmed when you look at our world today? Everywhere we look we see corruption, violence, deception, and evil. It seems that every part of our society is permeated with these things.
FROM OUR FAMILY AND MUSIC MINISTER | Every few weeks, I get the privilege of picking up Maya and Gael from school. Even though I am not their blood Uncle, I consider myself their favorite Uncle. As I wait in line to pick them up, they have completely different reactions when they realize it is me. Gael quietly and calmly walks to the car, but he is talking uncontrollably and bouncing all over the vehicle as soon as the door shuts. When I pick up Maya, as soon as she sees it is me, she starts jumping up and down and telling the teacher that I have come to get her. As you can see, they are complete opposites.
FROM OUR PASTOR | How frightening are these times! Everywhere we look we see confusion and uncertainty, strife, and agitation. It is so easy to be overwhelmed by fear and anxiety.
FROM OUR FAMILY AND MUSIC MINISTER | Being a Christian doesnāt mean we will always understand why God allows certain things to happen in our lives. Parents get divorced. Friends and family members pass away. Bad things happen. Even people that we are close to are going to disappoint us. But, our faith can provide a hope that God is always with us no matter what problems get in our way.
FROM OUR PASTOR | What a wonderful God we serve! Our heart should overflow with love, thanksgiving and praise for Him. As Asaph wrote in Psalm 81, āSing for joy to God our strength; shout joyfully to the God of Jacobā (verse 1).
FROM OUR FAMILY AND MUSIC MINSTER | As some of us get older, we tend to become more forgetful. Fortunately, this has not happened to me because I have always been forgetful.
FROM OUR PASTOR | Do you ever struggle in prayer? You are not alone. We all face struggles, fears and burdens that hinder our ability to pray with confidence.
FROM OUR MUSIC AND FAMILY MINSTER | This past week I was working in my workshop, and I needed to use my drill press. I don’t use this tool very often, but it is nice to have it on hand. As I pulled it off the shelf and set it up on my workbench, I noticed a little switch that I had not seen before. After some investigation, I realized that it cut on lasers that help you line up your work! What makes this more interesting is that I have owned this tool for more than 15 years and have struggled many times to line up my workpiece just on the right spot; instead of learning how to use this tool when I got it, I spent 15 years using it wrong and making it much more difficult to use. I can’t tell you the amount of time I have wasted looking for other tools or strategies to make this tool more accessible.
