Join Us for Our First Family Night of 2025!
Tonight From 6:00 – 7:00 PM

Start the year with us as Bro. David kicks off an inspiring new series exploring the lives

lead His people and what we can learn from their example.

We look forward to seeing you there!

From Our Pastor

What gives you confidence and security in life?  All of us have built our lives on something.  Whatever it is, it is most important to us.  If we have it (or enough of it) our life will be happy, solid, and fulfilling.

For some people, it is their knowledge.  They prioritize knowing their job, company, market, economy, and the workings of the world.  They are masters at small details and the big picture.

While such knowledge is an incredible asset, it does have its limitations.  No one can ever know (or correctly remember) everything.  There will always be someone more knowledgeable.  Worst of all, our ability to remember begins to decline.  Knowledge is important, but it is not everything.

What about strength ā€“ the ability to accomplish tasks?  People who can ā€œget things doneā€ are truly assets in any organization.  We should strive to be competent in the jobs and tasks that God has given to us.

However, strength has its limitations.  We all face problems that exceed our capabilities.  Sooner or later, weā€™ll say, ā€œI thought I could handle anything until I ran into thisā€.  This intensifies as we age when the problems intensify and our strength declines.

Another source of security is riches.  ā€œIf I only had this much more, I would be set.ā€  How often have we thought that way!  Unfortunately, we get to that wonderful point only to find it still isnā€™t enough.  Added to this is the fear of losing what we have.  We cannot build our lives on riches.

Upon what can we build our lives?  God gave us the answer in Jeremiah 9:23-24.  Here God said, ā€œThus says the Lord, ā€˜Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts, boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on the earth; for I delight in these thingsā€™ declares the Lord.ā€

God Himself is the only suitable, never-failing source of security and fulfillment.  He is always sufficient.  He always satisfies.  He doesnā€™t diminish.  He never grows old or stale.  Upon Him we can build our lives.

Reread those verses.  They donā€™t just offer truths about God.  They are an invitation to put your trust and confidence in Him.  Heā€™ll give you the confidence, security, and joy for which you long.
