Church Family,

Thank you so much for all of your help in making our 2024 Homecoming a success, whether it was helping clean the Church property both inside & outside, inviting & helping spread the word, greeting visitors, setting up chairs & tables, or bringing food. We also offer a special thank you to Jonathan, Nikki, Brother David, and our church hostesses. Throughout the planning process & preparations, there was such a sweet spirit. Seeing so many former members & community visitors celebrating with us was a blessing.

Mission Georgia Offering

Jesus showed us how to love, serve, and share. He never left people the same. Thatā€™s our calling, too…to love our neighbors…in Georgia. Good work requires hard workā€” from all of usā€”but thereā€™s nothing like watching eyes widen, hearts open, and lives change in our communities.

The September Mission Georgia offering emphasizes the collaborative efforts of Georgia Baptists to love our neighbors and serve the vulnerable. Your gifts allow us to help our churches grow in compassion for their neighbors and share the gospel while meeting needs throughout our great state.

From Our Pastor

Do you ever feel demoralized or defeated?  Perhaps the spiritual, social, economic, and political conditions of our nation weigh heavily upon your heart.  Or the circumstances in your life are so great that they outweigh everything else.  Either or both make it difficult to keep going.

But as believers, we have a never-failing source of strength and comfort in our Lord.  He gives us confidence in every situation.  He lifts us and enables us to face every circumstance.

Think of what we have in our relationship with God.  Paul was inspired to write, ā€œā€¦to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints:  Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.ā€ (Romans 1:7).  In that one verse we find the strength, comfort, and courage we need to face life.

We are first reminded of Godā€™s love.  Child of God, you are personally, eternally, and immeasurably loved by God (Jeremiah 31:3; Psalm 108:4; Ephesians 1:3-5).  His love was clearly shown by sending Christ to die and rise again to save us (John 3:16; Romans 5:8).  God loves us so much that He has adopted us as His children (1 John 3:1).

Think of those wonderful truths.  The God who created and rules over all things loves us.  We can rest when we remember that we are in His loving hands.

Paul also reminds us of Godā€™s grace toward us.  Grace means that God gives us what we have not earned, do not deserve.  We usually think of grace in terms of receiving salvation.  This is accurate because every part of our salvation is by Godā€™s grace alone (Ephesians 1:1-14).  However, in Romans 1:7, Paul is writing to believers.  They had already received Godā€™s grace in salvation.  Paul is telling them (and us) that the ongoing life of a believer is to be the experiencing of Godā€™s grace. This day (and every day) God wants to pour out His grace upon us.  Whatever we need He will provide.  We can rest in His grace.

Paul then speaks of peace.  Peace means more than merely a lack of conflict.  Peace means an inner sense of calm.  God desires to give us His perfect peace in the midst of every situation (Isaiah 26:3; Philippians 4:6-7).  Even in these days and in your circumstances, God will give us His perfect peace from within.

Everything we need in life is found in our Father.  We can trust Him for all things in all times.  Let Him pour out His love, grace, and peace upon you.
