Return to Worship
Dear First Baptist Family,
On June 14 at 11:00 a.m. we will assemble for worship. It has been a long, difficult, and confusing three months. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
However, we are still in a health crisis. We will still need to exercise caution as we meet for worship. This means there will be some changes in our service. Hopefully, these changes will be temporary, but at this time they are necessary.
First, if you feel your health is in any danger by attending, please DO NOT COME. Our greatest desire is for your well-being. We enjoy your fellowship and greatly appreciate your support, but we want to keep you safe. You can show your love and support for our fellowship by praying for us. We look forward to seeing you when it is safe to do so.
Next, masks are welcome but not required. If you feel safer wearing a mask, please do so.
Entering and exiting the sanctuary will also be different. Please keep six feet between family groups as you enter the sanctuary. There will be no greeters or printed bulletins. Hand sanitizer will be available.
Please no handshakes or hugs. Smiles and waves will be the best way to greet in this time. This is especially important for those whose health is compromised.
We will be sitting on alternate pews (every other pew) with six feet between family groups. To accomplish this, when you enter the sanctuary please go to the next available place from the front (pulpit/piano/organ) of the church. There will be deacons assisting in finding seats. At the end of the service, we will dismiss by rows and sections. All of this is to minimize congestion and crossing of paths.
Offering plates will be on the table at the back of the sanctuary as you leave the service. We will not be passing an offering plate during the service.
We will not have an invitation at the end of the service. If you desire prayer or are needing to respond to the Lord in some way, please call me or Jonathan. We would love to talk to you and pray with you.
At this time, we will have only the Sunday morning worship service. We will add other services and events when they can be safely done.
There may be other changes that become apparent as we go through this time. We will do our best to be observant and responsive to needed changes.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
