Outreach Bags for Halloween
Last year, our church family distributed over 500 goodie bags during the Ashburn Halloween Open House—and this year, we’re planning to reach even more families!
Each bag will include candy, information about our church, and the plan of salvation, making this an incredible opportunity to share the love of Christ with our community.
If you or your Sunday School class would like to help, you can donate candy or money for supplies. Please drop donations off outside Jonathan’s office by Wednesday, October 22.
Together, let’s shine the light of Jesus on a night when so many families are out and about in our community!

From Our Pastor
Habakkuk 2:4b says, “…But the righteous will live by his faith.” Every part of our relationship with God is based on trusting who God is and that He will keep His word. The Christian life is a life of trust.
We readily accept this in terms of salvation. We quickly trust that Jesus died and rose again to save us from our sins and give us eternal life. We become Christians by trusting Christ.
However, we often struggle with trusting God in everyday life and living. We don’t trust God in making our decisions and plans. We don’t trust God in facing problems. We somehow think that trusting God is not a practical approach to the issues of everyday life.
A quick study of the life of King Hezekiah shows that there is nothing more practical than trusting God. Hezekiah was one of the greatest kings of Judah. Under his reign, the nation was revived and restored. He won major battles. In fact, the entire invading Assyrian Army (185,000) were killed in one night.
All of this was the result of one core issue – Hezekiah trusted the Lord. 2 Kings 18:5 says, “He trusted in the Lord the God of Israel; so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor among those who were before Him.” Verse 6 says he clung to the Lord. Hezekiah’s life and reign were based on trusting God.
Think of the direct impact of Hezekiah’s trust in the Lord. First, he obeyed the Lord. 2 Kings 18:3 says, “He did right in the sight of the Lord…” When we really trust the Lord, it is easier to obey Him. Disobedience is a clear sign we don’t trust God.
Next, Hezekiah’s trust that resulted in obedience caused God to bless him. Verse 7a says, “And the Lord was with him; wherever he went he prospered.” God blesses us when we walk with Him. His blessing may or may not be external or financial but it will always be a fullness of our heart and soul.
Last, Hezekiah experienced God’s deliverance and victory. All of Hezekiah’s victories were the result of his trusting the Lord. The destruction of the Assyrians was the result of trusting God. God always moves in the lives of His people when they trust Him. Whether He chooses to deliver or sustain, He never abandons.
Hezekiah shows us we can trust God in the issues of everyday life. Think about your situation. Will you trust the Lord?
